Role Description
The HR Specialist, People Operations provides day-to-day Human Resources support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring People Operations processes and transactions are completed accurately and timely. This role collaborates with employees, managers, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, and other HR partners to support employee lifecycle processes and maintain accurate employee records.
The role supports hiring, employee changes, separations, and other Workday HCM activities. It also administers and monitors background checks and assigned pre-employment activities, coordinating follow-up with candidates, Recruiting, hiring teams, and vendors.
Through responsive service, attention to detail, and effective coordination, the HR Specialist helps deliver consistent People Operations support and a positive employee and manager experience.
What You’ll Do
People Operations & Employee Lifecycle Support
- Provide day-to-day People Operations support to employees and managers, responding to HR questions and service requests and escalating matters when appropriate.
- Support employee lifecycle processes, including hiring, onboarding, job and compensation changes, transfers, organizational changes, employee data updates, and separations.
- Support the People Operations Manager in delivering consistent People Operations services across assigned operating companies by coordinating HR activities, completing follow-up actions, preparing information and documentation, and escalating matters requiring additional review or guidance.
- Coordinate with Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, HR, and other internal partners to support accurate and timely completion of employee lifecycle activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee information and documentation and support consistent HR recordkeeping practices.
- Provide responsive, service-oriented support to employees, managers, and HR partners while helping resolve routine employee and operational needs.
Workday HCM & Process Support
- Support employees, managers, and internal stakeholders through Workday HCM processes across the employee lifecycle, ensuring required information, documentation, and process steps are completed accurately and timely.
- Process and review Workday transactions and monitor employee lifecycle activities, including hires, job changes, transfers, organizational changes, employee information updates, and separations, coordinating with Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, HR, and other stakeholders to resolve incomplete, inaccurate, or delayed steps.
- Assist employees and managers with routine Workday questions and required actions, escalating system or configuration issues to HRIS when appropriate.
- Identify recurring Workday or process issues and communicate opportunities for improvement to the appropriate People Operations, HRIS, or HR partner.
Pre-Employment & Background Check Administration
- Own the day-to-day administration and monitoring of background checks and assigned pre-employment screening activities, ensuring requirements are completed accurately and timely.
- Track outstanding screening requirements and coordinate follow-up with candidates, Recruiting, hiring teams, and vendors to resolve delays, missing information, or other issues.
- Maintain accurate screening documentation and escalate results or circumstances requiring additional review in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate pre-employment screening activities with the Workday hiring process to help ensure candidates progress through required steps accurately and timely.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for routine background check and pre-employment process questions and coordinate with vendors and internal partners as needed.
HR Operations, Compliance & Process Support
- Support consistent application of established HR policies, procedures, and People Operations processes while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Assist with HR audits, reporting, documentation, data-quality reviews, recordkeeping, and compliance-related activities.
- Maintain and update People Operations procedures, Workday guidance, job aids, and other process documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve People Operations and Workday processes, including efficiency, data accuracy, consistency, and the employee and manager experience.
- Support the People Operations Manager with HR activities, projects, system initiatives, and cross-functional efforts as assigned.
About You
Must Haves:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience: Two (2) or more years of Human Resources, People Operations, HR coordination, or related experience.
- Experience supporting HR administrative processes, employee transactions, or employee lifecycle activities.
- Experience working with an HRIS, HCM, or similar employee information system.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Workday HCM.
- Experience supporting background checks, pre-employment screening and hiring processes.
- Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.

Where We Work
At ACRT Services we prefer in-person employee interaction, and we rely on collaboration among groups to be successful and agile, which means we expect work in the office to continue as an important part of our company culture and a key to employee success. This position is a remote hybrid role, meaning employees may be required to come into the Stow, Ohio office on a weekly or as needed basis.
Standard office equipment will be provided to work in the office and at home – a dedicated space at home to work is also required. Uninterrupted home-based internet is a must in your home to attend and host video calls, along with a minimum bandwidth speed of 20 mbps. If you do not have an in-home office space or cannot meet the internet needs, an office space will be provided for you in the company’s Stow, Ohio office.
