Management Level:
P5The job responsibilities for an Engineer III include conceptualizing new projects, preparation of project estimates, development of layouts, creation of project schedules, and collaboration with the business to understand the financial viability of potential projects. This position will collaborate through all project phases with cross-functional teams both at the production facilities and at the corporate level to include safety, operations, finance, FSQA, maintenance, engineering, and environmental services. Engineer III will generate specifications, coordinate, and make data-based decisions to achieve the project deliverables regarding production throughput, product quality/specification adherence, and functionality. A high degree of creativity, strategic thinking and problem solving with a mindset of continuous learning and improvement is expected. Additional duties and responsibilities include:
· Familiarity with OSHA regulations as well as Tyson safety policies to ensure they are followed.
· Provide engineering design and parameters for new projects and utility systems
· Coordinate project design work including development and design for processing equipment layouts, piping diagrams, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration and other utility systems
· Consult with financial personnel for spending analysis and project cost tracking/reporting
· Interact and coordinate project activities with all levels of Operations and Engineering management
REQUIREMENTS:
· Education: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
· Experience: 5+ years’ applicable engineering experience in the food industry; Beef/Pork food processing experience preferred.
· Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, SAP or project management software including Microsoft Office desired. CAD training/experience with two and three-dimension drafting software.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present difficult concepts in understandable terms to all levels of the organization.
· Special Skills: Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude under supervision; demonstrated ability to assist with complex projects on time and on budget while achieving company objectives; knowledge of a variety of mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and process engineering discipline concepts, practices, and procedures. Extensive knowledge of and experience with the business processes related to consumer products manufacturing; excellent leadership consultative and interpersonal skills; organized results-oriented focus.
· Travel: Frequent travel is involved, up to 75%.
