Job Description:
This job is responsible for leading a team to maximize the value delivered through multiple programs and/or value streams within a small, less complex delivery portfolio. Key responsibilities include managing and developing the team through coaching, mentoring and feedback, aligning strategy, and execution by applying Lean and systems thinking approaches to strategy, investment funding, portfolio operations, and governance. Job expectations include managing the portfolio, ensuring compliance to standards, and driving continuous improvement to operations and governance.
Position Summary
This job is responsible for driving the execution of the GMT Operating Model. This requires an understanding of Trading and Technology capabilities for train setup across multiple functional areas. Key responsibilities include communicating work objectives, coordinating delivery, facilitating sync points across teams, providing end-to-end visibility into the health of the deliverables, and managing program risk and compliance to standards. Job expectations include ensuring designed trains meet Enterprise/GMT Operating Model and can deliver in terms of functionality, quality, timeline, and cost.
Partner with Business and Technology teams to define delivery trains for Programs, LOB Verticals and Technology Horizontals. Perform analysis to determine team fungibility and AIT alignment to value stream capabilities. Align roles to Op Model definitions with efficiencies found in separating execution-based roles from Agile operation roles. There are multiple trading capabilities across technology teams within GMT across Front Office, QSG, Qz Core, Finance, Operations, Market Risk and enterprise teams; this role must be able to understand and enable train design with these functional interdependencies. Responsible for establishing stakeholder relationships, tracking, and delivery execution of all GMT train design. Coordinates and facilitates routines to support delivery – e.g. kick-offs, status reviews, stakeholder meetings, change controls, tollgates, etc. Plans and coordinates delivery and dependencies with across multiple teams. Facilitates dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the defined deliverables. Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration across organizations to support the deliverable completion and timeline. Gathers/facilitates status updates for the deliverables to stakeholders and leadership pertaining to delivery, risks/issues, and schedule. Ensures that execution is aligned with deliverable requirements by working with the sponsor/stakeholders. Ensures deliverables comply with Enterprise Change Management standards. Supports resource planning for delivery/execution. Individual Contributor.
Responsibilities:
- Directs and leads a delivery team aligned to a portfolio and mentors Delivery Leads
- Manages and improves portfolio operations and governance processes, ensuring risks and roadblocks are escalated and resolved quickly
- Builds relationships with business and technology executives across multiple organizations, as well as Compliance and Risk
- Partners with the key stakeholders and leaders to define the vision and creating the portfolio roadmap aligned to strategic goals
- Provides status updates and reporting for the portfolio to stakeholders and leadership pertaining to the desired outcomes, delivery, risks, issues, and schedule
- Manages overall portfolio financials, Profit and Loss (P&L), and performance
- Ensures adherence with Enterprise Change Management standards
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience supporting Trading Desks, Functional Partners such as Finance, Ops, Market Risk, and associated technology systems
- The individual demonstrates an understanding of customer’s goals and effectively participates in the development and implementation of business solutions.
- Effectively manages project risk. Coordinates the work efforts of multiple functional teams through a project plan.
- Manages basic scope control procedures.
- Develops documentation; monitors and reports project status; assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of documentation.
- Initiates and maintains reporting relationships with project stakeholders.
- Analyzes and reports project status. Monitors project performance to maintain the quality of services, deliverables, and content.
- Effectively assists in directing both internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines.
- Collaborates and communicates with other project managers and development leaders to coordinate cross-project initiatives and activities.
- Identify and eliminate obstacles to solution plans, business goals or implementation.
- Assists in the development and implementation of contingency plans.
