At Halocarbon, we specialize in high-performance fluorochemistry, developing and manufacturing specialty chemical products that support critical applications across a variety of industries. Our work combines technical expertise, innovation, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

We're seeking an organized, detail-oriented Contractor Coordinator – Planner/Scheduler to coordinate onsite contractors and support the planning and scheduling of maintenance and site activities at our North Augusta manufacturing facility.

This is an opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys keeping projects on track, coordinating resources, solving problems, and working collaboratively across departments.

You'll play an important role in ensuring contractor and maintenance activities are properly planned, scheduled, and executed safely and efficiently while meeting site requirements and operational priorities.

What You'll Do

Contractor Coordination & Compliance

  • Coordinate onsite contractor activities, including obtaining quotes, initiating purchase requisitions, scheduling work, and ensuring contractors meet applicable permitting, training, safety, and site compliance requirements before beginning work.
  • Assist with monitoring contractor performance and coordinate the resolution or escalation of scheduling, execution, safety, or compliance concerns as appropriate.
  • Partner with departments across the facility to coordinate planned contractor activities, address scheduling conflicts, and minimize disruptions to site operations.
  • Ensure assigned activities are performed in accordance with plant safety requirements, site policies, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and other applicable regulatory and operational standards.

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, publish, and maintain weekly and longer-range maintenance work schedules, adjusting plans based on operational priorities, resource availability, and changing site needs.
  • Review and plan maintenance work orders to ensure the scope of work is clearly defined and necessary labor, materials, spare parts, tools, equipment, and contractor resources are identified before execution.
  • Review incoming work requests for completeness and accuracy, including equipment identification, scope of work, priority, and supporting details needed for effective planning and scheduling.
  • Coordinate the ordering, availability, kitting, and staging of materials and spare parts to support timely and efficient work execution.
  • Collaborate with various departments to coordinate planned work, resolve scheduling conflicts, and maintain alignment with operational priorities.
  • Apply strong planning, scheduling, prioritization, and problem-solving skills to support maintenance execution.

Work Order Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor scheduled work activities and maintain regular communication with stakeholders regarding work progress, completed assignments, scheduling changes, outstanding requests, and overtime needs.
  • Support timely and accurate work order documentation and closeout, ensuring completed work is properly recorded and outstanding items are identified for follow-up.
  • Track, compile, and communicate key planning and scheduling performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule adherence, work order completion, backlog management, and work readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, contractor coordination, scheduling efficiency, and overall maintenance work execution.
  • Support troubleshooting and the timely resolution of issues that could impact scheduled work.
