About The Team

LeadRx's pharmacy organization supports Direct-to-Patient and Free Goods programs that help ensure patients receive medications safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Senior Manager, Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), provides operational leadership for a specialized pharmacy operation, overseeing pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, supervisors, leads, and support staff while ensuring regulatory compliance, patient safety, and service excellence. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality pharmacy services while balancing operational performance, customer expectations, financial goals, and compliance requirements.

What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of a specialized pharmacy, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, supervisors, leads, and support staff.
• Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge and maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations, Board of Pharmacy requirements, licensing standards, PDMP requirements, and internal policies.
• Oversee prescription processing, medication preparation, dispensing, labeling, storage, inventory management, recalls, expiration controls, order fulfillment, and patient delivery activities.
• Support Direct-to-Patient and Free Goods programs while ensuring operational accuracy, quality, and patient safety.
• Ensure operational readiness through workforce planning, scheduling, staffing, training, and business continuity planning.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and manage team members while building leadership capability and succession plans.
• Establish and maintain SOPs, workflows, operational controls, training programs, exception processes, and documentation standards.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including prescription quality, service levels, productivity, patient experience, customer satisfaction, and program SLA performance.
• Manage departmental budgets and cost-center performance by analyzing workload volumes, staffing requirements, operational expenses, and business performance.
• Utilize operational data, root-cause analysis, and trend analysis to identify risks, solve complex challenges, and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, customers, and pharmacy leadership teams.
• Communicate business priorities, translate organizational strategy into actionable goals, and provide operational updates to key stakeholders.
• Evaluate new program opportunities, pharmacy initiatives, and service offerings from an operational, regulatory, quality, and patient-safety perspective.
• Lead regulatory inspections, licensing activities, audit readiness efforts, and responses to regulatory inquiries.

Skills You’ll Need

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing.
• Ability to meet all applicable requirements to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge.
• Ability to obtain and maintain additional pharmacist licenses as required.
• 9+ years of relevant pharmacy experience within specialty pharmacy, patient care, pharmacy operations, Direct-to-Patient programs, Free Goods programs, or similar environments.
• Experience leading pharmacy operations within a highly regulated environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations, Board of Pharmacy requirements, licensing standards, operational controls, and compliance expectations.
• Experience managing Board of Pharmacy inspections, regulatory audits, licensing renewals, and ongoing audit readiness activities.
• Experience identifying compliance risks, developing corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs), and implementing sustainable remediation strategies.
• Experience supporting multi-state pharmacy operations and pharmacist licensure requirements.
• Experience managing operational metrics, workforce planning, budgets, staffing models, and process improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• At least 1 year of people leadership experience, with pharmacy management experience strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills

• 3+ years of pharmacy management experience.
• Prior experience serving as a Pharmacist-in-Charge within a specialty, mail-order, closed-door, central-fill, patient assistance, Direct-to-Patient, or Free Goods pharmacy environment.
• Experience managing high-volume pharmacy operations.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state pharmacy compliance and pharmacist licensure management.
• Experience with pharmacy automation technologies, fulfillment operations, program implementations, pharmacy start-ups, or operational transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated success leading organizational change, improving operational performance, and driving service-level excellence.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop pharmacy professionals and emerging leaders.
• Experience partnering with Legal, Compliance, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs teams to manage regulatory risk and maintain compliance.
• Robust multi-state pharmacist licensure portfolio strongly preferred.
• Experience leading regulatory inspections, Board of Pharmacy interactions, licensing activities, and audit-readiness programs.
