Job Overview
The Senior Executive Coordinator to the President serves as the central point of coordination for the Office of the President, ensuring efficient administrative and operational day-to-day functioning of the office while providing a welcoming, professional, and highly responsive experience for internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional emotional intelligence, discretion, and diplomatic skill necessary to represent the President’s Office. You are a proactive communicator and natural problem-solver who operates with calm authority in a fast-paced environment. Strong relational skills, sound judgment when handling confidential information, and the ability to build collaborative connections across a complex academic institution are essential for success in this role.
Work Interactions
The Senior Executive Coordinator interfaces directly with the Chief of Staff, the President and their direct reports. They manage the complex needs of the COS and President, and consequently, this position is critical to the proper functioning of the Office of the President. They must gain a firm grasp of the organization of the University and maintain a strong working relationship with offices throughout the University.
The Senior Executive Coordinator interacts closely with all direct reports of the University President. Additionally, this position interacts with all levels of university leadership, counterparts in other offices, Board members and their representatives, and external colleagues. This is a highly visible position who interacts on a regular basis with internal as well as external constituencies including faculty, staff, students, alumni, University officials, local, national and international government officials and VIP dignitaries. As such, the professionalism with which this person performs her or his duties impacts the impression of the Office of the President.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of experience required (or equivalent combination of education and work experience) of progressively complex administrative and customer service experience supporting senior leadership or C-level executive(s).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling and composition are necessary.
- Candidate must have exceptionally strong organizational skills and analytical abilities, and must also demonstrate proven interpersonal skills and experience providing complex administrative support in a high profile environment with courtesy, professionalism, diplomacy, efficiency and confidentiality.
- Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks, understand stakeholder needs, and work under pressure.
- Experience with project management is preferred.
This position requires proficiency in the use of standard office equipment such as printers, copiers, faxes, and scanners as well as excellent skills with standard office productivity software including Gmail, Google Calendaring and other applications, Microsoft Office Suite (MSWord, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), including the use of advanced formatting of Google docs/Word, Google slides/PowerPoint, and Google sheets/Powerpoint.
- The ideal candidate is extremely organized, flexible and creative, and able to work with a variety of personalities and constituencies to meet the demands of the job.
- They are proactive self-starters who will also take direction and feedback from supervisors. This person proactively engages with, learns and communicates with evolving technologies to enhance the productivity of the Office of the President.

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$66,783.00 - $126,720.23Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
