Description
Morris County Aftercare Center is seeking an armed security officer for an outpatient methadone treatment facility located in Denville, NJ that will safeguard patients and staff during business hours. Must be certified in the state of NJ. Hours of operation are M-F 5:30AM - 12:30 PM and Sat 7-9AM.
Salary is competitive, and ranges from $40,000-$50,000 annually depending upon experience. Benefits are generous, and include paid time off, paid holidays, and medical/dental/life insurance.
- Meet and greet all visitors to facility, being a public face to the company
- De-escalate and take charge of all tense situations that may arise
- Respond immediately to any loud noises, raised voices/shouting coming from the facility
- Routinely patrol the building, both inside the facility, and the outer perimeter of the building for suspicious activity
- Conducts visual inspections both inside and out of property for any safety concerns and or damages to property or materials on the premises
- Monitor security cameras and footage in the lobby
- Maintains Liaison/ Receptionist duties for incoming visitors
- Performs administrative and security lobby operations
- Maintains office security by following safety procedures in the lobby area
- Maintains necessary security logs, forms and records for all visitors

Process incoming and outgoing visit requests for security purposes
- Assist the Facilities Director with maintaining security policies and procedures pertaining to assigned duties
- Represents the organization in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with being the liaison with building management and contractors for general office maintenance
- Assist with sort incoming mail by department
- Assist with validating deliveries and sort according to departments
- Provide training for back up in position
- Conduct walking audits associated with general safety and security procedures, physical safety and security systems, keys and compliance
- Maintain visitor logs
- Partner with facilities in an as needed basis
- Assist with monthly safety drills, inspections and exercises on an as needed basis
- Adheres to all confidentiality laws as applied to substance use
- Adheres to the professional code of ethics of the agency
- Demonstrates awareness of and competency in cultural diversity
- Develops personal & professional goals in conjunction with supervisor to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programming
- Maintains all licensing and certifications for life and safety protocols

Experience working as security, either at prior office buildings, or law enforcement/military experience
Minimum requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Baton and Pepper Spray permits are a plus
- Guard Card
- Law enforcement, security, or military experience strongly preferred
- CPR certification is a plus
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Reliable form of transportation
- Physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods
- Observational and communication skills
