Description
A highly regarded, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its sophisticated Commercial Real Estate practice in New Haven (preferred), Hartford or Stamford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned paralegal who enjoys taking ownership of transactions and working directly with attorneys and clients on the financing, acquisition, and disposition of commercial real estate, including complex multi-family and multi-state transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft commercial loan closing documents, purchase and sale agreements, correspondence, and memoranda
- Review loan commitment letters and prepare transaction and closing checklists
- Coordinate and review title, survey, zoning, insurance, municipal, UCC, litigation, bankruptcy, and corporate due diligence
- Prepare and coordinate pre- and post-closing packages
- Handle post-closing matters, including e-recordings, recording issues, final title policies, document transmittals, and outstanding undertaking items
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing transaction-related funds with the firm's Finance Department
Ideal Candidate
- 6+ years of legal experience involving commercial real estate transactions
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate financing and closing processes
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines
- Strong judgment, initiative, and commitment to client service
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-assisted legal resources
