Role Summary
The Executive, Finance is responsible for supporting the accounting and treasury functions by preparing and submitting financial reports, ensuring the accuracy of accounts payable/receivable, managing banking and treasury operations, and assisting with month-end closing processes. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of financial reporting, and effective coordination with various stakeholders.
Key Outcomes
Timely Financial Reporting – Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports for the company or business unit.
Account Reconciliation – Ensures timely reconciliation of accounts payable, receivable, and bank transactions.
Operational Efficiency – Manages payment processing, petty cash disbursements, and banking operations efficiently.
Compliance with Policies – Adheres to internal policies and procedures, including tax compliance.
Support in Financial Closing – Assists in preparing closing reports and other month-end activities.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Handling Account Payables and Receivables
Ensure timely processing and update of accounts payable and receivable in line with company policies, tax legislation, and internal procedures.
Process unpaid bills, contractor claims, and other transactions related to accounts payable.
Review and update journal entries, debit/credit notes, and ensure timely reconciliation of A/R and A/P against the General Ledger (GL).
Banking Updates
Review and reconcile collections and related treasury functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Process payments and petty cash disbursements promptly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Monitor cash flow movements and ensure that sufficient funds are available for operations by managing transfers between accounts.
Prepare Account Closing Reports
Summarize monthly financial status by preparing detailed income statements and financial position reports.
Assist in the preparation of Cash Flow Reports and Group Reporting (GRP) within the required timeframes.
Prepare fixed asset schedules, debtor reports, and creditor reports for monthly account closings.
Prepare Accounts Reconciliation and Journals
Prepare and monitor Bank Reconciliation within the agreed timeline after receiving the bank statement.
Monitor daily cash flow movements and fund transfers to ensure sufficient funds for operations.
Perform creditor and debtor reconciliations on time and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Assist in performing journal entries for monthly account closing processes.
Administration Related Matters / Ad-hoc Assignments
Perform general administrative duties such as managing mail, dispatching documents, and managing office stationery and filing systems.
Assist in ad-hoc duties and other tasks assigned by the Head of Department (HOD) or immediate superior.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Management – Understanding of AP/AR processes and effective reconciliation practices.
Cash Flow & Banking – Ability to monitor and manage cash flow and oversee banking transactions.
Tax Compliance – Familiarity with tax requirements and internal procedures for compliance.
Accounting Systems & Software – Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Bukku) and spreadsheets for reconciliation and reporting.

Task Prioritization – Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a timely and organized manner.
Team Collaboration – Works well within a team and coordinates with other departments for financial operations.

Microsoft Excel – Strong skills in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
Accounting Software – Familiarity with accounting systems and ERP tools used for financial reporting and reconciliation.
Banking and Payment Platforms – Experience with banking platforms for payment processing and monitoring transactions.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Experience Requirements
At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within finance or accounting.
Familiarity with tax legislation, accounts reconciliation, and financial reporting is preferred.
Basic knowledge of cash flow management and banking operations is an advantage.
