The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Sourcing Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Own and lead strategic sourcing for Outsourced Electronics across 3M businesses and divisions, including supplier selection, negotiations, NPI support, sourcing policies, and supplier relationship management.
• Drive cost, growth, and working capital goals by reducing total product/process cost, applying sourcing best practices, using should-cost models where appropriate, and managing mid-spend suppliers with the Global Electronics Team.
• Lead and implement sourcing strategies for complex situations, including dual-sourcing, negotiations, category strategy, supplier management, risk reduction, and external supply opportunities.
• Drive process improvements using sourcing data, metrics, and SAP experience to improve service, speed, and cost while collaborating with suppliers and key 3M stakeholders across Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations.
• Lead contract negotiations with suppliers in partnership with 3M Division stakeholders and 3M Legal to support business and sourcing objectives.
• Implement and negotiate complex supply agreements, including supplier-managed inventory, consigned materials, formula-based pricing, and other specialized supply arrangements.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ technology (EEE/ MECH) or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• 10 years of Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering and/or Manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
• Experience in Sourcing, especially with outsourced suppliers in the field of Power Tools.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Hands-on experience with Citrix, Windows 365 Cloud PC, Microsoft 365, Windows platforms, Azure/AWS, hybrid cloud, networking, storage, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, IAM, Group Policy, and access governance.
• Experience in security remediation, vulnerability management, patching, compliance, automation/scripting, ITSM processes, service reporting, KPI monitoring, documentation, and knowledge management.
• Experience working with global stakeholders across regions.
• Strong English communication, analytical, documentation, planning, influencing, and leadership skills.
