Overview
The Plant Manager Hunt Valley will oversee all operations of the Augusta Life Sciences US OpCo I LLC manufacturing facility in Hunt Valley, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for optimizing plant performance, managing personnel, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Manage and direct all manufacturing operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics, to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets.* Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.* Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of plant personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.* Ensure strict compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO, GMP).* Manage the plant budget, control expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.* Implement and maintain robust quality control processes to ensure products meet specified standards and customer expectations.* Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant tools.* Collaborate with other departments, including R&D, supply chain, and sales, to ensure seamless operations and achieve company goals.* Oversee facility maintenance and capital projects, ensuring equipment reliability and operational readiness.* Prepare and present reports on plant performance, production metrics, and operational challenges to senior management.* Address and resolve operational issues, production delays, and customer complaints effectively and promptly.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.* Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a plant management or leadership role within a relevant industry (e.g., life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical devices).* Proven track record of successfully managing complex manufacturing operations, achieving production targets, and implementing process improvements.* Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, quality systems (e.g., GMP, ISO), and safety regulations.* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a diverse team.* Excellent financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.* Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.* Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.* Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant manufacturing software.
