Are you an experienced Buyer or Procurement professional with a background in the technology sector?

We are supporting a growing technology business looking for a commercially minded Buyer to join its Procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively across a business, building strong supplier relationships, and finding the best possible combination of price, quality, and service.

Procurement plays a central role in the organisation, working closely with Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure purchasing is efficient, commercially focused, and compliant with internal processes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Purchasing products and services to meet operational and customer requirements.
• Sourcing competitively priced products and services without compromising quality or service.
• Managing purchasing risks across price, quality, availability, and delivery.
• Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and maximise margins.
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships through regular reviews and communication.
• Validating quotes and bids and identifying opportunities to reduce costs.
• Ensuring purchases are made through preferred and approved suppliers.
• Supporting Sales teams and customers on commercial deals, helping to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Identifying process improvements and recommending practical and innovative solutions.
• Maintaining accurate purchase order information across internal systems.
• Communicating purchasing updates and changes effectively across relevant teams.
• Ensuring compliance with purchasing policies, guidelines, and supplier standards.
• Keeping up to date with market developments that could impact products, services, pricing, or availability.
• Developing specialist knowledge within an allocated technology product area.

What We're Looking For

• Previous procurement or buying experience within the technology industry is essential.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with numbers.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
• Strong relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
• Genuine motivation to deliver results and add value to the wider business.
