The Tax Accountant ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations for a not-for-profit healthcare organization. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax filings, supporting audits, and advising on tax implications of business decisions. Success in this role is measured by timely and accurate tax reporting, risk mitigation, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week

 

Compensation: Pay $50,000-$60,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns (payroll, sales, property, and income) for a multiple entity environment
• Maintain documentation and records to support tax filings and audit
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations affecting healthcare operation

Audit & Risk Management

• Support internal and external audits by providing requested tax documentation
• Maintain compliance with state unclaimed property reporting requirements
• Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive review and analysis

Advisory & Collaboration

• Advise departments on tax implications of contracts, grants, and operational changes
• Collaborate with finance and legal teams to ensure tax compliance across business units
• Acquire and maintain understanding of Dialysis Clinic Inc’s business activities and reporting systems

Qualifications

Successful Candidates Bring:

 

Education Required

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit sectors
• Experience with ADP and Workday preferred
• Experience working with a multiple entity corporate structure
