Permanent Full-Time, Hybrid
The Solution Architect will work with internal and external stakeholders to advance the maturity of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) solutions including connectivity to provincial Electronic Health Record (EHR) Solutions and Services, OntarioMD Products and Services, enhanced clinical tools, and the exchange of health information.
Reporting to the Manager, Architecture and IT Assurance, this role is responsible for:
- Collaborate with health system stakeholders including the Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, EMR vendors, health system delivery partners and clinicians to provide IT architecture expertise across the product or service development lifecycle, advancing the effective and mature use of EMR solutions and other technologies used by community-based practices
- Provide architecture guidance for provincial EMR/EHR interoperability initiatives including planning and requirements development, design, validation and the publication and support of specifications
- Provide guidance in the design, development, delivery and ongoing enhancement of both new and current OntarioMD products and services including application development and data warehousing
- Advance requirements for the collection and exchange of health information using health data, terminology and messaging standards and provincial interface standards
- Document architectural artifacts, in alignment with Ministry of Health and Ontario Health provincial interfaces, architecture and standards using industry best practices and frameworks
- Leverage ISO and other recognized provincial security control frameworks to advance privacy and security practices
- Develop and provide presentations and documentation to various internal and external audiences as required and report regularly on progress and status
Requirements that are important to us:
- University degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Information Technology (IT) architecture and standards
- Minimum three (3) years IT architecture experience in designing, integrating or working with Ministry of Health and/or Ontario Health provincial services
- Experience implementing relevant digital health standards, including messaging and content standards (e.g.: FHIR, SMART on FHIR, OAuth2, OpenID, SNOMED etc.)
- Experience with interface engines (e.g. Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, etc.), strong understanding of MS Office 365 and Azure technologies
- Experience with health sector privacy and security principles and relevant frameworks such as ISO 27001/27002, PIA and TRA frameworks
- Experience with community-based EMR solutions and office technologies
- Experience with solution and application architecture design life cycle using agile/scrum methodologies. TOGAF certification preferred
- Experience with data warehousing preferred
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining productive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders in complex, multi-stakeholder health care environments
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills; able to present to internal team

Base salary range of $83,723 - $100,723 annually; final compensation offered will be determined based on experience, skill set, education, training, and internal equity.
