RBI’s Global Commodities & Intelligence Centre of Excellence
RBI is strengthening its global procurement organization by establishing a Global Commodities & Intelligence Centre of Excellence (CoE).
The CoE will provide commodity intelligence, data, risk management, and commercial decision support to procurement teams across RBI’s brands and markets. It will act as the analytical backbone of the global procurement function, helping regional teams make faster, data-driven sourcing and negotiation decisions.
Our opportunity:
The Sr. Manager, Global Commodity Management & Analytics will help build and manage the CoE’s commodity intelligence, data, risk management, and negotiation support capabilities.
This is a newly created global role for a commercially minded commodity professional with strong market knowledge, advanced analytical skills, and an interest in using AI and data to improve procurement decisions.
The role will focus primarily on the following direct commodity categories:
Sugar, Wheat, Soy, Corn, Pork, Beef, Chicken, Paperboard, Potatoes
The CoE will own market intelligence, forecasting, cost modelling, risk reporting, and upstream negotiation support for these categories.
The role will also provide advisory intelligence and risk support for selected indirect categories, including metals, steel, engineering, energy, MRO, and industrial gases.
The CoE will support or lead negotiations for upstream raw materials, depending on the category and market. This may include raw meat cuts, agricultural commodities, and packaging feedstocks.
RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite 5 days per week.
Your roles & responsibilities:
- Build and continuously improve commodity intelligence tools, including price forecasting models, market monitoring, risk dashboards, and scenario-planning frameworks.
- Conduct market research across the direct commodity portfolio, covering supply and demand, weather, crop conditions, geopolitics, trade flows, currency movements, and market pricing.
- Develop global should-cost models and cost benchmarks to validate supplier pricing and support evidence-based sourcing and negotiation decisions.
- Support RBI’s commodity risk management strategy, including forward-buying programms, index-linked contracts, hedging considerations, and spot, forward, and long-term supply arrangements.
- Prepare negotiation strategies, cost models, and commercial materials for upstream commodities, supporting negotiations and gradually taking ownership of selected categories.
- Lead contingency and risk-management activities, including supply-chain stress testing, scenario modelling, inventory analysis, business continuity assessments, and risk reporting.
- Manage commodity data, external intelligence providers, and system integrations, ensuring reliable data is available across procurement, finance, and supply-chain teams.
- Partner with regional and global stakeholders by providing market updates, sourcing recommendations, executive reports, supplier benchmarks, sustainability insights, and governance support.
Your skills and experience:
- 6+ years of progressive experience in commodity procurement, trading analytics, agricultural markets, supply chain risk management, or commodity intelligence within FMCG, food service, QSR, or agri-food.
- Solid grounding in global commodity markets for at least two of the nine Direct categories; proven experience supporting or executing upstream raw commodity negotiations, including proteins (Beef cuts such as Flanks/Forequarters, Chicken Fillets/Wings, Pork Bellies), grains, oilseeds, or packaging feedstocks.
- Hands-on experience building or working with AI/ML-based forecasting tools, commodity price models, or advanced analytics platforms in a commercial procurement or trading context.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or comparable data science tooling for commodity modelling; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent for dashboarding and executive reporting.
- Working knowledge of commodity market structures, exchange-traded pricing (CME, CBOT, ICE), and financial risk instruments (futures, options, indices).
- Hands-on experience with major commodity market data providers (e.g., LSEG, Bloomberg, Mintec, Agiboo, Fastmarkets); ability to manage vendor relationships and evaluate platform capabilities.
- Experience with supply chain stress testing, scenario modelling, or financial risk analysis in a commodity or procurement context.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills — able to translate complex market data into clear financial impact models and concise strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Fluent in English; additional languages an asset.
We are looking for:
Commodity intelligence professional with a data-first mindset and genuine commercial edge. You are as comfortable building a stress-test scenario model as you are sitting across the table from a raw commodity supplier. You turn complex market data into clear procurement decisions and negotiation strategies. You thrive in a role where the quality of your analytical and commercial output directly shapes outcomes for teams operating around the world.
Benefits at all of our global offices are focused on physical, mental and financial wellness. We offer unique and progressive benefits, including a comprehensive global paid parental leave program that supports employees as they expand their families, free telemedicine and mental wellness support.
