Description
The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager and Superintendent in management on the construction project. Helps the Project Manager direct and supervise activities related to contract administration, budget, and schedule.
Maintains a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding client needs and expectations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Professional communication with all parties involved in the construction project.
- Assists in project budget.
- Assists in project schedule.
- Knows and understands project documents.
- Knows and understands the requirements of owner’s contract, including bonds, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting, and insurance.
- Assists Project Manager in managing the subcontracting process and relationships with subcontractors.
- Assists in coordinating the schedule to assure subcontractors and suppliers are meeting project schedule.
- Effective communication with owner and owner representative to provide a positive construction experience to owners and users.
- Employs effective conflict resolution and problem solving strategies.
- Builds relationships with clients, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the project expectations.
- Actively participates in industry, client, and community activities to enhance company image.
- Helps prepare for and participates in proposals and interviews seeking potential new business opportunities.
- Coordinates and communicates with Contract Administrator and other project team support staff.
- Assists in conducting and reporting of pre-installation meetings.
- Be stationed onsite or make regular jobsite trips to collaborate with the jobsite superintendent.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS:
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the business.
- Demonstrates management skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with clients by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations.
- Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer and company communication tools, such as e-mail, internet, and Microsoft products (i.e. Word, Excel, Office), and scheduling and construction administration software.
- Demonstrates conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
- Is Self-motivated, and has good time management skills
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related construction field, or similar field experience.
