This position reports to:
Field Service Manager__
Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will support automation projects and service activities within the Pulp & Paper industry, focusing on engineering, configuration, testing, and commissioning of ABB System 800xA DCS. Ensure high-quality delivery, compliance with ABB standards, and customer satisfaction.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Supporting automation engineering activities for projects and services.
- Configuring, developing, and documenting ABB 800xA systems.
- Developing and modifying control logic and HMI/graphics.
- Participating in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
- Supporting commissioning and startup activities at customer sites.
- Performing troubleshooting and diagnostics of DCS systems.
- Ensuring compliance with ABB quality, safety, and engineering standards.
- Collaborating with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth execution.
- Maintaining proper project documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Automation, or related field.
- You have 2–4 years of experience in automation or control systems.
- Possess strong knowledge of DCS and industrial automation systems.
- You have experience or exposure to ABB System 800xA.
- Possess understanding of control logic design (IEC 61131-3).
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) is an advantage
- Exposure to QCS systems and industrial scanners or drives is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and control diagrams.
- Possess familiarity with using AutoCAD is a plus.
- You have strong teamwork and collaborative mindset and positive, customer-oriented attitude.
- You are willing to travel and work on-site when required.
- Ability to handle variable workloads and pressure.
- Possess strong adherence to ABB safety standards and administrative procedures.
- You are self-driven and capable of working independently with full ownership to complete tasks end-to-end.
