Position Summary
The Digital Marketing Specialist supports the development and execution of digital marketing initiatives that build awareness of and drive enrollment in NYU’s graduate programs. Serve as a versatile creative and digital marketer for the team, with a particular emphasis on creating compelling, engaging visual and multimedia content for organic social and paid advertising that engages prospective students throughout the enrollment journey. Support the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns and digital nurture initiatives designed to move prospective students from initial engagement through submitted applications. Help develop and execute advertising and nurture content across the enrollment cycle, monitor campaign performance, and leverage data and audience insights to identify opportunities for optimization and improve conversion at each stage of the funnel. The ultimate goal is to create more effective, integrated digital experiences that drive qualified leads and applications to NYU’s graduate programs.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field.
Preferred Education:Master's Degree in marketing, communications, business, digital media, advertising, or a related field.
Required Experience:2+ years Experience producing and editing video content for marketing content. Experience in graphic design. Experience managing paid media campaigns. Experience writing and editing.
Preferred Experience:3+ years Experience managing paid search campaigns across Google Ads and additional digital advertising platforms such as Meta, Reddit, TikTok, LinkedIn or emerging AI search platforms. Experience with SEO, landing page optimization, marketing automation, conversion tracking, data visualization, or dashboard development is also preferred. Strong copywriting abilities.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrated proficiency in video production and editing, including the ability to independently conceptualize, shoot, edit, and deliver video content for digital and social platforms. Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design and visual content creation, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work. Strong visual storytelling skills and an understanding of how to create content that captures attention and communicates effectively across digital platforms. Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and channels. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and collaborate effectively with creative and marketing stakeholders. Demonstrated curiosity about digital marketing, social media, emerging technologies, and evolving content formats. Demonstrated ability running paid media campaigns.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Working knowledge of paid social and emerging digital advertising platforms, especially Google ads.. Knowledge of SEO and the relationship between paid and organic search strategies. Experience with web analytics, conversion tracking, attribution, and marketing performance measurement. Experience developing or maintaining automated marketing dashboards and performance reporting. Ability to identify trends and patterns in complex datasets and translate them into clear recommendations for marketing strategy. Knowledge of AI-powered search and emerging digital advertising technologies. Familiarity with higher education marketing, enrollment funnels, and prospective student behavior. Experience with A/B testing, landing page optimization, and conversion rate optimization. Experience writing copy for ads, pitch decks, landing pages, email campaigns, and for SEO optimization.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $88,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
