This position is generally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, evening and weekend hours may be required to support organizational priorities, community events, meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities. Work hours may vary based on business needs and project demands.
This position requires local travel within the assigned service area and occasional travel across enterprise service areas. Travel may involve exposure to varying weather and road conditions.
The incumbent must be able to operate equipment and technology necessary to perform job functions, including computers, mobile devices, and other standard office equipment.
This position may function virtually and requires the ability to work effectively from a non-Advocate Health location while maintaining productivity, communication, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Pay Range:
$59.00 - $88.50Major Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations for The Beacon, managing activities and teams that ensure the facility, programs, services, and partner activities function effectively, safely, and in alignment with Advocate Health’s community health and impact priorities.
- Translate The Beacon’s place-based vision into practical operating plans, workflows, timelines, staffing models, and daily execution strategies that support a trusted and accessible community health hub.
- Lead facility readiness, space utilization, opening activation, maintenance needs, safety protocols, and operational procedures in partnership with facilities, security, real estate, and other internal teams.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison for tenants, community partners, internal departments, and service providers to support coordinated programming, clear expectations, issue resolution, and shared accountability.
- Support activation and integration of community-facing services, including care access, social health navigation, resource connection, workforce, wellness, and other programs that respond to community needs.
- Establish and manage operating structures, meeting cadences, communication channels, escalation processes, and reporting routines to promote coordination across clinical, social health, community impact, philanthropy, finance, legal, communications, and external partner teams.
- Monitor operational performance, partner deliverables, community responsiveness, risks, service gaps, and improvement opportunities; develop recommendations and action plans to strengthen execution and impact.
- Ensure The Beacon’s day-to-day operations reflect a welcoming, inclusive, community-centered environment that builds trust, supports access, and advances dignity for residents, partners, patients, and visitors.
- Prepare updates, materials, and recommendations for Community Health & Impact leadership and other internal stakeholders regarding operational status, milestones, partner needs, risks, and opportunities to advance The Beacon’s mission.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

Education Required:
- Bachelors degree in community and/or health aligned discipline.
Experience Required:
- Requires 7 years of experience managing community-based public or private facilities that prioritize community partnerships, program delivery, and efficient day-to-day operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of community-based facility operations, including daily workflows, space utilization, safety practices, service coordination, and efficient operating procedures that support a welcoming and accessible environment.
- Ability to build, coordinate, and sustain effective working relationships with community partners, tenants, service providers, internal departments, and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated skill in translating strategic goals into practical operating plans, timelines, workflows, meeting structures, and follow-through processes that support reliable execution.
- Strong communication and issue-resolution skills, including the ability to align stakeholders, clarify expectations, prepare updates, escalate concerns, and support timely decision-making.
- Ability to monitor operational performance, identify risks or service gaps, recommend improvements, and use information to strengthen partner accountability, community responsiveness, and measurable impact.
- Commitment to community-centered practices that promote trust, access, dignity, inclusion, and responsiveness to the needs of residents, patients, partners, and visitors.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Requires daily presence at The Beacon and the ability to move throughout the facility to engage with teammates, tenants, partners, visitors, and community members.
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, using a computer, attending meetings, and communicating in person, by phone, and virtually.
- Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials or supplies typically up to 25 pounds.
- Requires occasional local travel to meetings, Advocate Health locations, partner sites, and community events; may involve exposure to weather and road conditions.
- Work is performed in a community-based health and wellness hub, office, meeting, public-facing, and occasionally virtual environment; may require occasional evening or weekend hours to support operations, events, or urgent needs.
