Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Team Member, UT/FA/REITs/E-Money to join our Trustee Operations team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and authorising a broad range of trustee and fund administration activities across Unit Trusts (UT), Fund Administration (FA), Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), E-Money, and other trust-related mandates. You will work closely with clients, regulators, business partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the timely delivery of high-quality services while driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
What you will be doing
- Manage and authorise operational matters relating to REITs, corporate trust transactions, private debt securities (PDS), E-Money, custodial, escrow, and other trustee services.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient delivery of services to clients while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
- Plan and manage resources effectively to ensure sufficient operational coverage and continuity of services.
- Provide operational coverage for peers within Trustee Operations as and when required.
- Coach, train, and guide new team members to ensure readiness and effective execution of operational processes.
- Verify regulatory reports submitted by fund managers and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Review and update policies, guidelines, standard operating procedures, forms, and documentation to strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency.
- Drive process automation initiatives and system enhancements by preparing clear user requirements, system specifications, and comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation.
- Liaise and maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulators, banks, brokers, custodians, solicitors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Proactively escalate and report operational irregularities, client feedback, process improvement initiatives, and project updates to management.
- Ensure proper maintenance, organisation, and filing of operational documents and records.
- Perform system maintenance, enhancements, and configuration-related activities.
- Prepare and review internal management reports and external regulatory submissions.
- Execute and verify trade transactions, corporate actions, money market placements, income distributions, fee payments, foreign exchange deals, and unit cancellation payments where applicable for REITs.
- Attend key stakeholder engagements including client meetings, preliminary discussions, site visits, and other important operational meetings.
- Review documentation, forms, and resolutions to ensure completeness and execution within stipulated timelines.
- Maintain and update Operating Manuals and process documentation in a timely manner.
- Execute specialised operational tasks requiring functional expertise and technical knowledge.
- Provide valuable feedback and recommendations on operational issues faced by clients and internal teams.
- Support additional assignments and projects as directed by Management from time to time.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in trustee services, fund administration, asset management operations, or the broader financial services industry.
- Strong experience and working knowledge of Unit Trusts, REITs, Fund Administration, E-Money, corporate trust, or related trustee operations.
- Sound understanding of the Malaysian regulatory environment, including compliance requirements governing trustee and fund administration activities.
- Proven ability to manage complex operational processes and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in coaching, mentoring, or guiding team members.
