What this role is all about
Strong financial operations help support smooth hotel experiences for both guests and team members. As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll support day-to-day accounting and finance operations while helping maintain accuracy, organization, and operational efficiency across the property.
This role is perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working with numbers, reporting, and administrative processes in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You’ll support hotel finance teams with data entry, reconciliations, invoice processing, reporting, and operational accounting tasks that help keep hotel operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

What you’ll be doing
Support daily accounting operations including invoice processing, data entry, filing, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial record maintenance.
Assist with preparing reports, spreadsheets, operational documentation, and accounting records accurately and efficiently.
Review invoices, receipts, expense reports, and financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
Support cash handling processes, deposits, billing updates, account tracking, and operational finance activities as needed.
Maintain organized accounting files, records, audit documentation, and operational financial systems.
Assist with month-end close processes, reconciliations, operational reporting, and financial deadlines.
Partner closely with Finance leadership and hotel departments to support operational accuracy and smooth financial processes.
Respond professionally to vendor inquiries, billing questions, and internal operational requests.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial and employee information.
Support audits, inventory reviews, payroll support, purchasing documentation, and additional accounting projects as needed.
Help foster a collaborative, organized, and business-focused culture aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.
Any other duties as assigned.
What great looks like
Previous accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, hospitality finance, hotel operations, or office support experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and operational accounting processes preferred.
Experience using Excel, Microsoft Office, accounting software, PMS platforms, or financial reporting systems preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with a professional and dependable attitude.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
Positive attitude with a collaborative, service-focused, and team-oriented mindset.
Flexible availability including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and operational support as needed.
