Description
We are looking for an experienced Data Platform & Governance Lead for a role based in the Upper Highway area, within an established FMCG organisation
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on data professional to take ownership of the organisation’s enterprise data platform and drive data architecture, governance, security and integration. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a practical, business-focused approach, ensuring trusted, secure and usable data is available for reporting, analytics, Microsoft Copilot and operational decision-making
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and administer Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse and semantic model environments
- Design and maintain scalable data architecture, pipelines, mirroring and integrations across ERP, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, operational systems and external sources
- Establish and maintain data governance, data quality, ownership, KPI definitions, lineage, retention and reporting standards
- Manage data security, role-based access, workspace permissions, sensitivity labels and access reviews
- Support and mentor departmental Data Analysts through standards, reusable data assets and technical guidance
- Support Power BI, Microsoft Copilot and self-service analytics by ensuring data is trusted, structured and properly governed
- Work closely with systems and technical IT teams to acquire and integrate data required for reporting, analytics and operational decision-making
- Partner with operational teams to understand business needs and deliver practical, sustainable and cost-effective data solutions
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Science or a related field
- 3+ years’ experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data management or a related function
- Strong experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, data modelling, data warehousing and data governance
- Experience with data pipelines, integrations, security models and access control
- Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineer, Power BI or Data Governance certification would be advantageous
- Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or SYSPRO environments would be advantageous
