Description
This position administers workers compensation and safety programs including: interpretation of regulations, policy development and interpretation and workers compensation claims processing. Additionally, the position administers employee safety and HR-related training programs.

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES |
This position reviews, edits and provides recommendations on departmental budget. |
PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES |
Provides project resource allocation based on pre-approved resources on organizational development projects, human resources projects, process improvement projects and employee training and development projects. |
ORAL COMMUNICATION DUTIES |
This position trains colleagues, explains County procedures or processes, responds to public inquiries, conducts and participates in meetings, negotiates or persuades, and gives presentations. |
WRITTEN COMMUNICATION DUTIES |
This position creates or edits documents, internal memos, emails, safety procedures, guidelines, and compliance manuals, formal letters and reports. |
INTERACTIONS WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC |
Interacts extensively with employees, customers, the general public, vendors, regulatory bodies, and other groups and/or individuals and Institutions over the telephone, by email, and/or in person. |

MINIMUM YEARS OF DIRECTLY RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED |
Five (5) years experience in workers compensation and/or employee safety programs; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS REQUIRED |
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. |
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED |
Human Resources management; training; Federal, State, local laws, regulations, Statutes; knowledge of occupational health and safety compliance. |
SKILLS REQUIRED |
