Job Description:
Intermountain Health is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to join its Private Markets team. The Investment Team manages over $26 billion in assets across multiple portfolios with distinct investment objectives, risk parameters, and liquidity needs. The private markets program commits more than $1 billion annually across private equity, private credit, real assets, secondaries, and co-investments.This role provides meaningful exposure to all phases of the investment process, including manager sourcing, due diligence, underwriting, portfolio construction, performance monitoring, and investment recommendation. The Senior Investment Analyst will support the evaluation of prospective and existing investments through qualitative and quantitative analysis while developing independent investment judgment and market expertise.
Working closely with senior investment professionals, consultants, legal counsel, and external investment managers, the Senior Investment Analyst will contribute to investment research, due diligence reviews, portfolio analytics, and investment committee materials. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop broad private markets investing experience within a large, sophisticated institutional investment program.
Essential Functions
Support qualitative and quantitative due diligence efforts for prospective and existing private markets investments.
Analyze fund investments, co-investments, and secondary investment opportunities through evaluation of investment strategy, management teams, portfolio construction, performance, alignment, and key risk factors.
Develop independent investment perspectives through research, data analysis, and assessment of relevant market trends.
Assist with portfolio analysis, including exposure monitoring, commitment pacing, liquidity planning, and risk assessment across private markets portfolios.
Build and maintain financial models, performance analyses, and other analytical tools used in investment evaluation and portfolio management.
Participate in investment manager meetings, diligence calls, annual meetings, and industry conferences.
Prepare analytical materials supporting Initial Due Diligence Reviews, full Due Diligence Reports, investment memoranda, and investment committee presentations.
Monitor existing investments and evaluate manager performance, portfolio developments, key risks, and emerging opportunities.
Conduct market research and support thematic projects related to private equity, private credit, real assets, secondaries, and co-investment strategies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, consultants, legal counsel, and external investment managers throughout the investment evaluation and monitoring process.
Assist in maintaining the manager pipeline, research database, and investment tracking systems.
Support the preparation of quarterly investment monitoring reports, portfolio reviews, and other materials for investment leadership.
Identify opportunities to improve investment processes, workflows, and analytical capabilities through technology, automation, and AI-driven tools.
Maintain the accuracy and consistency of investment data, manager information, and supporting documentation across internal systems.
Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant investment experience within institutional investing, investment consulting, investment management, endowments, foundations, pensions, family offices, direct investing, or related environments.
- Demonstrated experience conducting investment analysis, financial analysis, research, or due diligence.
- Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, scenario analysis, data analysis, and presentation of investment findings.
- Strong PowerPoint, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while operating effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a desire to develop as an investment professional.
- Experience leveraging technology, data analytics, AI tools, or workflow automation to improve investment research and decision-making processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master of Finance, Master of Economics, Master of Science, or related discipline).
- CFA designation or progress toward completion of the CFA Program; CAIA or similar credentials also considered.
- Experience evaluating private equity, private credit, real assets, secondaries, co-investments, or other alternative investment strategies.
- Experience with institutional investment concepts including performance evaluation, manager research, risk analysis, portfolio monitoring, commitment pacing, liquidity management, and investment due diligence.
- Experience with investment technologies and data platforms such as MSCI/Burgiss Private i, Dynamo, PitchBook, eVestment, or similar systems.
With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts.
