Position Overview:
Hardware Engineering opportunities have arisen in our highly collaborative team. The team is situated in our centrally located Cambridge office. We are looking for hardware engineers early in their career to join our experienced team and work on the design of Entrust HSM products. We need a strong focus on quality, reliability and security to meet the exacting needs of our customers and security certification requirements.
The successful candidate will have some professional experience, with a passion for electronics and hardware design and looking to develop a career in hardware or security engineering. We are particularly keen to find engineers who can learn quickly and take responsibility for areas of a design with mentoring from more experienced members of the team, and then take on more responsibility as technical knowledge and experience is gained.
Hardware Engineering at Entrust comprises the full scope of the physical product platform - High Speed Digital Design, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Thermal Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- work within an Agile product development framework
- develop excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and colleagues
- contribute to development of high-quality hardware security modules (HSM) meeting the needs of our customers
- maintain detailed design documentation, test reports, and bills of materials
- contribute hands-on to development of product subsystems
- carry out hardware implementation, prototyping and validation activities
- regularly prototype, integrate and demonstrate hardware platforms as part of “system demos”
- plan work collaboratively with the whole Engineering team
- drive continuous self-development
Qualifications:
We’d expect the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate knowledge in a few of the following areas:
- a solid understanding of the fundamentals of digital & analogue electronics in product design, ideally at high speeds in embedded systems
- the ability to analyze complex technical problems and offer innovative, reasoned and practical solutions to demanding requirements
- microcontroller development and efficient low power design techniques
- professional ECAD systems – ideally Altium
- design and implementation of security products
Basic Qualifications
Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant technical subject, e.g. Electronic Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant technical subject, e.g. Electronic Engineering.
