Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, general
ledger management, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a CPA with at least 5 years of
accounting experience, strong expertise in GAAP compliance, financial analysis, and month-end/year-end close
processes. This role is responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, managing reconciliations,
supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading audit
preparations. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, provide strategic
financial insights, improve accounting processes, and mentor junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data, and oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct thorough analyses of overhead costs, identifying opportunities to reduce expenses and improve organizational efficiency.
- Perform complex account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly, and lead efforts to streamline reconciliation processes.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards, serving as a resource for regulatory inquiries and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights, enhance decision-making, and drive financial performance improvements.
- Lead and coordinate the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors for timely completion.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls, improve efficiency, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing training on accounting principles, processes, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes to optimize reporting and operational efficiency.
- Provide analytical support for special projects, acquisitions, or other financial initiatives as needed by senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting & CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, particularly in financial reporting and general
ledger management.
Experience in the healthcare or medical supply industry is advantageous.
Proficiency in general accounting software required; hands-on experience with Sage (e.g., Sage 100) strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex formulas and financial models.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial compliance regulations, especially in the healthcare industry.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Proven ability to analyze financial data and make data-driven recommendations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast?paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information
clearly.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting financial insights to management.
