Senior Financial Analyst

Overview

Samaritan Daytop Village provides life-changing services in mental health, addiction recovery, housing, and more to help individuals and families across New York rebuild their lives. We serve over 33,000 clients annually at more than 60 locations throughout the five boroughs, as well as Suffolk, Rockland, Sullivan, Westchester, and Ulster Counties. 

 

This Senior Financial Analyst role drives organizational strategy by producing monthly financial reports, budget variance analyses, and multi-scenario revenue forecasts. The position focuses on analyzing complex financial data, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and building dynamic financial models to evaluate key performance indicators. Ultimately, the analyst partners with leadership to deliver data-driven recommendations, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. 

Responsibilities

• Generate monthly financial, budget variance, and quarterly reports

• Analyze trends in revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, and key performance indicators

• Develop financial models and multi-scenario revenue forecasts to support strategic initiatives

• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and investigate unexpected budget variances

• Analyze complex financial data to deliver actionable, data-driven recommendations for leadership

• Create charts, graphs, and presentations to illustrate financial performance and operational insights

• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and provide alternatives to improve financial standing 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

• At least 3 of financial analyst experience, preferably in the non-profit or government sector

• Strong knowledge of general ledgers and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Preferred familiarity with software such as Blackbaud Financial Edge, Bassware, or Next Gen

• Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Ability to build strong working relationships and translate complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences

• Skill in analyzing and anticipating situations, defining problems, recognizing alternatives, and formulating collaborative solutions

• Experience or exposure to workplace AI tools, preferred 

 

Additional Information 

This is a full-time exempt role with a salary of $80,000-$90,000 with a full benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 25 days of paid time off, access to a retirement account with an employer to match, and tuition reimbursement.  

 

This role is based in Briarwood, Queens with an expectation of working from the office 3 times per week.
