Intro
We are looking for someone to step into a fast‑paced secondment supporting the delivery of external communications for niche project within Railpen.
The role
This is an exciting three-month opportunity for a Communications Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of communications across a range of building safety projects and stakeholder groups.
You will be responsible for managing the production and delivery of leaseholder/resident and project communications, ensuring all outputs are accurate, timely, compassionate and aligned with organisational standards. Working closely with project teams, managing agents and contractors, you will gather and interpret information from multiple sources, translating complex updates into clear and effective communications.
A key part of the role will involve reviewing content with a critical eye, challenging information that is unclear, incomplete or inconsistent, and ensuring all communications are factually accurate and fit for purpose. You will coordinate the sign-off process across operational, project and legal teams, as well as the Head of External Communications, ensuring approvals are secured efficiently and deadlines are met.
You will take ownership of the communications tracker, maintain clear oversight of activity, priorities, dependencies and risks, while effectively managing competing demands and keeping delivery moving at pace. You will also play an important role in responding to emerging issues, remaining calm, focused and solution-oriented when dealing with sensitive or time-critical situations.
This role would suit someone who is highly organised, confident working with a broad range of stakeholders, and able to balance attention to detail with the ability to deliver empathic and high-quality communications in a fast-paced environment.
The person
You will be a highly organised professional with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable taking ownership of your work, you will be proactive in driving activity forward and ensuring deadlines are met without compromising on quality.
A confident communicator, you will be comfortable asking challenging questions, constructively probing for clarity and pushing back where information is incomplete, unclear or inconsistent. You will have strong judgement and the confidence to make informed recommendations, helping ensure communications are accurate, balanced and effective.
You will be resilient and adaptable, remaining calm and focused when working under pressure or responding to sensitive and emerging issues. With excellent stakeholder management skills, you will be confident building relationships and working collaboratively with a wide range of internal colleagues and external partners, ensuring effective coordination and successful delivery of communications activity.
Most importantly, you will bring a practical, solution-focused approach, combining strong organisational skills with the ability to work at pace and deliver high-quality outcomes.
