Job Description

As a Security Officer Residential Housing in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Housing.Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a Residential Housing location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. In this people-first role, you will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication, dependable service, and teamwork while reflecting our values of reliability, innovation, and integrity every day.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at the location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access to the location by observing entrances and exits, verifying permitted entry, and reporting unusual activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance-related issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Support a structured and respectful environment by providing directions, assisting with de-escalation when appropriate, and following post orders related to resident services and daily operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
