General Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant to support the company's financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting records. The role is responsible for maintaining accounting transactions, preparing reconciliations and financial reports, monitoring receivables and payables, and supporting compliance with financial regulations, tax, and Zakat requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, record, and review daily journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all account balances are accurately maintained.
• Monitor and reconcile customer and supplier accounts, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Prepare periodic accounting and financial reports for management review.
• Review invoices, payments, and expenses to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Follow up on tax and Zakat filings and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and statutory requirements.
• Utilize accounting systems and ERP platforms to maintain financial records and generate management reports.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and supporting records.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required information and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Accuracy of accounting records and journal entries.
• Timely completion of monthly closing activities.
• Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Reconciliation completion rate and discrepancy resolution.
• Accounts receivable collection performance.
• Accounts payable processing efficiency.
• Compliance with tax, Zakat, and regulatory requirements.
• Audit findings and corrective action implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in general accounting or finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of tax and Zakat regulations in Saudi Arabia.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Profile

• Professional accounting certification is an advantage (SOCPA, CMA, ACCA, CPA, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proactive, organized, and results-oriented.
