Credit Controller – (12 Month FTC) – based in Milton Keynes, MK5 (Hybrid)

 

Job Purpose:

An opportunity has arisen with one of our clients for a Credit Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract at their Milton Keynes Head Office.

 

The business is a well-established specialist in industrial automation and controls, operating as part of a large international group. Working within the Credit Control team and reporting to the Credit Supervisor and Credit Manager, you will manage your own sales ledger, collect outstanding debts by telephone and written correspondence, and work closely with customers, sales teams and internal departments.

 

This full-time, hybrid role would suit an organised and dependable Credit Controller with a thorough, detail-focused approach who enjoys working within a collaborative, supportive team.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a designated portfolio of sales ledger accounts, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts.
• Support other members of the Credit Control team during periods of absence.
• Collect outstanding debts by telephone and written correspondence.
• Handle customer queries and liaise with internal departments and customers to resolve issues.
• Negotiate the settlement of overdue monies and agree the release of held orders.
• Liaise with sales teams to provide commercially acceptable solutions when granting credit to customers.
• Set and control suitable credit limits.
• Carry out regular credit risk assessments and open new credit accounts.
• Mitigate the business’s credit risk, taking the necessary escalation action where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and collection activities within the relevant systems and reports.
• Complete ad hoc tasks to achieve the monthly collection targets set by the Credit Supervisor or Credit Manager.

Experience:

• Previous credit control experience is essential.
• A good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths at grade A–C (or equivalent), is essential.

 

Hours of Work:

• Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)

 

Work Location:

• Milton Keynes Office (Hybrid)
