Safety Manager

We are hiring for a Safety Manager to join our team! 

Stevens Construction Corp. is a commercial general contractor with self-performed trades of concrete, carpentry, and prefabricated walls. We specialize in the new construction of various commercial, multi-unit, mixed-use buildings.

The Safety Manager reports to the Safety Director and is responsible for leading day-to-day safety operations across Stevens Construction Corp. projects by supporting project teams, overseeing incident response and compliance, and advancing a practical, prevention focused safety culture.

• Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to plan and implement safety throughout all phases of construction projects.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety audits, orientations, and huddles to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Build strong relationships with field teams and subcontractors while promoting a proactive safety culture through education, coaching, and accountability.
• Monitor jobsite safety documentation, checklists, and worker performance to identify risks and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Investigate incidents, lead accident reviews and root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Stay current on OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations and assist in developing and improving company safety policies and programs.
• Lead and facilitate safety training for employees and subcontractors, covering company policies, OSHA requirements, jobsite hazards, and best practices.
• Support and serve as backup to the Safety Director during absences, providing leadership and oversight of Stevens' safety program and team.

This position is based out of the Stevens Corporate Office in Madison, WI; with regular jobsite travel throughout the greater Wisconsin area.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of commercial construction safety experience, in a leadership role preferred.
• CHST, ASP, CSP, or related credentials. Bachelor's degree in safety, construction management, or related degree preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA Construction standards, incident investigation, and injury case management.
• Ability to lead, influence project teams, resolve conflict, and communicate professionally with self-perform crews, subcontractors and clients.
• Valid Drivers' license and ability to travel regularly throughout greater Wisconsin area.
