Summary/General Description of Responsibilities:
•The incumbent installs maintains and repairs water, steam, gas or other types of pipe and pipefittings.
•Skilled and proficient in the usage of electronic leak detection methodologies such as ultrasonic listening devices.
•Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identify and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements for resolution.
•Incumbent is responsible for adapting to evolving PDM industry best practices and responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
•Inspections and assessments of piping systems, reporting those conditions to the AT and performing the pipe repair work requests issued by the AT.
•Investigate and identify facility gas leaks including compressed air, natural gas, breathing air, steam and other similar facility utilities; correct facility/RPIE gas utility piping leaks found by the PdM Lab; repair water and steam pipe leaks or other identified problems found by the PdM Lab; and install sampling ports for air desiccant breathers.
•Must be able to utilize PDM tools in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of critical assets.
•Performs a variety of pipefitting trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of water, steam, gas, or other types of pipe and pipefittings according to specifications and plumbing code.
•Incumbent understands steam/water flow characteristics and theory of operation; able to apply these applications of all associated equipment such as pumps, traps, strainers, regulators and safety valves.
•Lays out work and measures to locate position of pipe from drawings or other written specifications, cutting various sizes of pipe to correct lengths with chisel and hammer, oxyacetylene torch, or pipe cutting machines.
•Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
•Threads pipe with stocks and dies, assembles pipe with couplings and fastens pipe to hangers.
•Inspects pipe supports, hangers and brackets for signs of pipe strain or other deficiencies.
•Performs standard shop computations relating to pressures, flow, and size of pipe required. Performs standard tests to determine whether finished pipes meet specifications.
•Utilizes and interprets technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and specifications, verbal and written instructions.
•Must be fully capable of articulating findings and corrective actions in written (report) format.
•Adheres to proper security practices, foreign object damage procedures and airfield driving regulations, as applicable.
•Responsible for completing daily work order log documenting inspections, maintenance and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours worked on each assigned work order.
•Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.
•Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.
•Complies with applicable federal, state, United States Air Force (USAF) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations.
•Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
•Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.

•Working harmoniously with customers and fellow co-workers.
•Maintaining strict confidentiality of all Alutiiq LLC related matters.
•Accountable for assigned tools, materials and equipment.
•Cleanliness and safety of shop and work areas.
•Maintain a safe and healthy work environment within the shops and company vehicles.
Physical Requirements:
The position may require lifting up to 75 pounds, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, bending, pushing, pulling, some climbing and balancing may be needed. Significant hand and finger dexterity required. The ability to communicate verbally, read and write, as well as to interpret various technical/mechanical blueprints/documents. Environment, while generally hazard free, may include some exposure to dust and varying temperatures.
Qualifications/Skills:
•High School diploma or equivalency.
•Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.
•Five (5) years' experience at journeyman pipefitter level.
•Minimum of two (2) years' experience in condition assessment and advanced maintenance methodologies, as documented by resume and references.
•Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of PDM tools and advanced predictive maintenance methodologies.
•Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
•Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
•Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
•Familiarity with facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.
•Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & courteous manner in diverse situations.
•Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.
•Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
•Demonstrated working ability read, write, speak and understand English.
Preferred:
•Seven (7) years' experience at journeyman pipefitter level.
•Military experience.
•Previous experience working on a military installation and/or experience working on Tinker facilities.
•Familiarity with military-specific facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.
This position may currently and/or in the future be required to obtain and retain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) and/or Personal Clearance (PCL) as required by law or contract. Position requires pre-employment drug screening.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Position may require various shifts, which may include Saturdays and Sundays and/or Holidays
