WK Webster is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team in Sidcup. This is a great opportunity for someone with some office or accounts experience who is looking to further develop their knowledge within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Working as part of a friendly team, you'll support a variety of day to day accounting activities, helping to ensure payments, invoices and financial records are processed accurately. We're ideally looking for someone with previous accounts experience, but we'd also welcome applications from candidates with strong administrative experience who have worked with invoices, payments or other financial processes.
This is a full time position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm with a 30 minute lunch break. The first three months will be office based, with the opportunity to move to a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home following successful completion of probation.
With recent internal progression creating opportunities within the team, this is an excellent time to join. You'll gain valuable exposure to a wide range of accounting processes, develop your skills further and become part of a well established business operating within a specialist sector.
How you'll make an impact
- Check payments and ensure all information is accurate
- Post invoices onto internal systems
- Prepare bordereaux and validate information before processing
- Use online banking systems to review accounts and process payments
- Carry out reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies
- Respond to payment and invoice related queries
- Support the wider Accounts team with general administrative tasks
- Assist with ad hoc duties as required
About you
- Previous accounts experience would be advantageous
- Alternatively, strong office or administrative experience with exposure to invoices, payments or financial processes
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
- Comfortable using computer systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Analytical approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, positive and willing to support colleagues when needed
- Right to work in the UK required
