DESCRIPTION: Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Financial Analyst I, where you'll contribute to financial excellence and business growth. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver financial analysis and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. Working closely with Finance teams, Operations, and business partners, you'll provide critical financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, financial performance analysis, and compliance oversight. You'll also have opportunities to enhance reporting processes, drive automation initiatives, strengthen internal controls, and contribute to the company's continued growth through accurate financial analysis and data driven decision making.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work effectively with large datasets
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate financial information and insights clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and processes
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity and professional ethics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- Internship, academic, or professional exposure to financial analysis, accounting, or corporate finance
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Knowledge of month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation
- Familiarity with SOX compliance, internal controls, or financial control frameworks
- Experience with financial reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Hyperion
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis
- Interest or experience in process improvement, reporting automation, or data analytics
- Strong customer-focused mindset and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
- Professional accounting qualification or progress toward a qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in North Carolina is $50,000.00–$64,500.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
