Job Purpose
The Communications Manager plays a critical role in translating brand and consumer experience strategies into executable plans and integrated consumer-facing experiences.
Note: It is a 12-month fixed term Parental leave cover role.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Planning & Delivery
- Translate annual plans, campaign strategies and comms priorities into clear, actionable delivery roadmaps.
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of brand, CX, content, and digital initiatives.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies and critical paths to ensure delivery against business objectives.
- Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks and resource requirements, implementing solutions before issues impact delivery.
- Drive accountability across stakeholders to ensure projects remain on track.
- Manage the delivery of integrated campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels.
- Develop project plans and coordinate execution across internal teams and external agency partners.
- Support content planning, production and distribution across multiple touchpoints.
- Coordinate briefing, feedback, approvals and implementation processes to ensure work is delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Lead day-to-day relationships with creative, media, digital, research and production agency partners.
- Ensure agencies are clear on objectives, timelines, deliverables and expectations.
- Coordinate agency outputs and manage project workflows from briefing through to completion.
- Foster collaborative relationships that drive efficiency, quality and continuous improvement.
- Own project tracking, workflow management and delivery reporting processes.
- Ensure appropriate governance, approvals and stakeholder sign-off processes are followed.
- Maintain visibility of project status, priorities and delivery risks across the business.
- Continuously improve ways of working, processes and systems to enhance team effectiveness.
- Partner with media, insights and analytics teams to review campaign performance and identify learnings.
- Ensure campaign and project insights are captured and incorporated into future planning and execution.
- Support a test-and-learn culture focused on continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
Ideal Experience
- 5+ years' experience in marketing, consumer experience, campaign management, project management or related disciplines. Either within an external agency or internal agency environment.
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and agency partners.
- Proven ability to build and manage delivery plans, workflows and project timelines. Experience working with project management tools will be viewed favourably.
- Experience working across content, media, digital and ecommerce channels.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and coordinate across functions.
- Experience within FMCG, retail or consumer-focused businesses preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment.
- Organised and delivery-focused.
- Strong communicator and collaborator.
- Commercially minded with attention to detail.
- Comfortable balancing strategic intent with day-to-day execution.
- Able to independently manage projects and drive work forward through multiple stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Tertiary qualification in marketing or data analytics
- 5+ years experience working with CDP and CRM platforms
- Retail/FMCG/CPG experience preferred
- Good communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to train and onboard teams, identifying relevant training tactics for differing stakeholders
- Significant experience of utilising a CDP and CRM
- Experience of delivering quantifiable business benefits through personalised marketing campaigns
- Experience with data science, and able to work with data to derive actionable insights related to personalising the consumer experience
- Proficiency in design, HTML5, CSS and advanced technical aspects of email marketing (preferred)
- Highly motivated, adaptable leader with the ability to deliver in a timely and professional manner
- Motivated by a consumer focus and committed to delivering innovative, data-driven personalised consumer experiences
- Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels in a global, regional and local team
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with exposure to working with both marketing and technical teams
