Roles and Responsibilities
Leadership
- Provide visible local leadership for Kuala Lumpur-based FCC and TPRM colleagues, developing capability, promoting engagement and setting expectations for effective delivery.
- Provide senior oversight of Kuala Lumpur-based compliance services, including Gifts and Hospitality, Conflicts of Interest and StarCompliance, with responsibility for service performance, control effectiveness and improvement priorities while routine processing remains with operational teams.
- Oversee the commercial and operational arrangements supporting Kuala Lumpur delivery, including budgets, vendors, licences, contracts and recharges, and sponsor significant service, system and process improvements through the relevant accountable teams.
Cross-Functional Support
- Act as the principal local interface with Head Office, translating Group priorities into coordinated plans and maintaining senior visibility of ownership, capacity, dependencies, performance and emerging risks.
- Coordinate delivery of cross-functional priorities, ensuring clear ownership, appropriate specialist input and timely escalation of material issues.
- Draw together insights on FCC priorities, including material arrangements, emerging thematic risk themes and trends, control weaknesses, exceptions and remediation to support senior management decisions.
Policy, Standards and Frameworks
- Coordinate updates to Group FCC and TPRM policies, standards and supporting guidance, including consultation, governance and implementation support.
Governance, Forums and Reporting
- Oversee the FCC and TPRM governance and reporting rhythm, ensuring papers, decisions, issues and actions are timely, accurate and focused on material risks and required management action.
- Coordinate periodic management information and KRI reporting across FCC and TPRM, working through domain and reporting teams to assure data quality, meaningful analysis and clear senior-management commentary.
- Drive improvement of reporting frameworks, calendars, templates and data definitions, escalating material weaknesses in automation, data quality or decision-usefulness to accountable owners.
Regulatory and Horizon Scanning
- Track financial crime and third-party risk regulatory developments across Group jurisdictions; assess impact on Group requirements and flag required changes.
Training, Awareness and Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate FCC training and awareness activity with BU/LBU and Group subject matter experts, tracking delivery and completion.
- Build effective working relationships across Group Risk and Compliance, Procurement, Operations, Legal, Internal Audit and local second-line teams.
- Support projects, transformation initiatives and ad hoc deliverables within the scope of the function as required.
