As part of NANA Healthcare's growing network of specialized treatment programs throughout Georgia, Hidden Creek is committed to creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment where clients can focus on healing, personal growth, and long-term wellness.

Position Summary
Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the leadership and daily operations of our nursing department in Tallapoosa, GA.
Working closely with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary leadership team, the ADON will help oversee nursing operations, support clinical staff, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
This position is ideal for a nursing professional who enjoys both leadership and direct patient care. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, build strong relationships with staff, remain actively involved in daily operations, and confidently step in when additional clinical support is needed.
This is a hands-on leadership position, not a strictly administrative role. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing nursing oversight, staff development, clinical responsibilities, and the evolving needs of a residential behavioral healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Nursing Leadership & Operations
Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing department operations.
Provide guidance, supervision, and ongoing support to nursing staff.
Help coordinate nursing schedules, staffing coverage, and departmental workflow.
Support the onboarding, training, and development of new nursing team members.
Promote a positive, accountable, and collaborative nursing culture.
Serve as a resource for nursing staff regarding clinical procedures, patient care concerns, and operational questions.
Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and quality of care.
Assume designated nursing leadership responsibilities in the Director of Nursing's absence, as assigned and within applicable requirements.
Clinical Responsibilities & Patient Care
Provide direct nursing care and clinical support when necessary.
Assist with patient assessments, ongoing medical monitoring, and identification of changes in clinical condition.
Oversee safe medication administration practices and medication management procedures.
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
Support the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Assist with medical emergencies, crisis situations, and appropriate escalation of patient care needs.
Ensure nursing documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
Promote patient safety, appropriate clinical boundaries, and trauma-informed care practices.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Support compliance with applicable Georgia regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies.
Assist with chart reviews, documentation audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Help maintain infection prevention and control standards.
Monitor adherence to established nursing protocols and medication administration procedures.
Identify and report clinical concerns, safety risks, and opportunities for corrective action.
Participate in regulatory inspections, internal reviews, and quality assurance activities.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy requirements.
Team Development & Collaboration
Partner with the Director of Nursing to encourage staff accountability, professional development, and performance improvement.
Support effective communication between nursing, medical, clinical, housing, and administrative departments.
Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary treatment team discussions.
Assist in addressing staff concerns and resolving day-to-day operational challenges.
Foster an environment where employees feel supported, respected, and empowered to deliver quality care.
Maintain a consistent and approachable leadership presence throughout the facility.
Required Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or a valid multistate RN license authorizing practice in Georgia.
Minimum of 3 years of professional nursing experience.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to provide clinical guidance and make sound decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Comfortable providing direct patient care in addition to leadership responsibilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Strong commitment to patient safety, ethical nursing practice, and high-quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Supervisor, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, or similar nursing leadership role.
Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, adolescent treatment, residential care, or substance use treatment.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Familiarity with healthcare regulatory compliance, documentation audits, and quality improvement processes.
Experience supporting patients with complex behavioral or mental health needs.
We welcome applications from experienced RNs who have demonstrated leadership abilities and are ready to take the next step in their nursing careers.
