About the Role
This senior role puts you at the heart of Europe’s polyethylene and polypropylene markets, leading ICIS’ editorial strategy, benchmarks and market intelligence. You will build trusted industry relationships, interpret market-moving developments and deliver authoritative insight and analysis that helps customers make informed commercial decisions. As a key voice for European polyolefins coverage, you will help maintain trusted pricing benchmarks and contribute to the future direction of market intelligence and product development.
Responsibilities
- Lead ICIS’ European polyolefins coverage, owning the quality, credibility and impact of our polyethylene and polypropylene market intelligence and pricing.
- Act as the market authority for European polyolefins, maintaining deep insight into supply, demand, trade flows, pricing dynamics and emerging market trends.
- Own industry-leading price benchmarks, exercising independent judgement to assess market value and ensure transparent, trusted and robust pricing.
- Deliver high-impact analysis and insight that helps customers understand market developments, manage risk and make informed commercial decisions.
- Build and develop senior industry relationships across producers, traders, distributors, converters and brand owners.
- Drive thought leadership, identifying the themes, risks and opportunities that matter most to customers.
- Represent ICIS externally at conferences, customer meetings, webinars and industry events, acting as a recognised voice in the market.
- Shape the future of ICIS’ polyolefins offering, helping evolve benchmarks, develop new areas of coverage and influence product strategy and innovation.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in polyolefins, polymers or petrochemical markets, with a strong understanding of pricing, trade flows and commercial market dynamics.
- Strong commercial judgement and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and draw clear, defensible conclusions.
- Experience of working with pricing mechanisms, benchmarks or market intelligence and an understanding of their role in commercial decision-making.
- Proven ability to build credibility and strong relationships with senior industry stakeholders and customers.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex market developments into clear, actionable insight.
- Confidence representing an organisation externally and acting as a trusted voice in industry forums, customer meetings and events.
- A proactive, curious and accountable mindset, with the drive to understand markets in depth and identify emerging opportunities and risks.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and independence, with the presence and credibility expected of a recognised market authority.
