Your Team
You are part of the Corporate Functions Data Governance team within GBS, supporting a diverse set of business partners across Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other Corporate Functions. You work closely with the GIDS leadership team to enhance metadata, taxonomy, and governance practices across Invesco. You will be working as an individual contributor, you drive and support governance initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and help operationalize data governance practices to advance the team's strategic goals.
Your Role
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop, maintain, and enhance the enterprise data catalog, ensuring metadata is accurately documented and governed.
- Partner with the Data Capability team to facilitate source system onboarding and scanning and leverage the resulting data catalog and technical metadata to support data governance activities.
- Monitor and manage metadata to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Partner with Data Owners and Business Data Stewards to support Metadata, Data Quality, Data Lineage, and Critical Data Element governance activities.
- Provide training and guidance to users by accessing the Metadata Dictionary and navigating Taxonomy.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on accessing and using the Metadata Dictionary and Taxonomy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Informatica (Enterprise) Metadata tool and serve as a subject matter expert.
- Maintain documentation and ensure knowledge retention.
- Handle and manage escalations related to metadata processes.
- Support GIDS leadership in achieving team goals and initiatives.
The Experience You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in a data-related role, preferably in financial services.
- Strong understanding of metadata and its role in IT and business processes.
- Experience with metadata management tools such as informatics Axon, EDC or any other tool (preferred; training available)
- Knowledge of Data Governance capabilities, processes, and operating models.
- Understanding of Enterprise Data Governance Frameworks and Data Stewardship concepts.
- Self-motivated and inquisitive, with the ability to proactively engage business, technology, and data teams to drive data governance initiatives and outcomes.
- Proficiency in Excel, share points and using Gen AI tool
- CDMP| DCAM certification will be added advantage.
Academic requirements
- Postgraduate degree.
- IT and finance-related certifications preferred
