Msuez Uk is a leading logistics and transportation company, operating in Durban, South Africa. We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fleet Controller to join our team.
As a Fleet Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our fleet of vehicles. This includes managing driver schedules, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining accurate records of vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption. You will also be responsible for monitoring vehicle tracking systems and addressing any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the fleet, including assigning drivers to routes and ensuring timely delivery of goods
- Monitor vehicle tracking systems and address any issues or delays in delivery
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption
- Communicate with drivers and provide support as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local laws and regulations
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source and purchase new vehicles when necessary
- Monitor and report on fleet performance and make recommendations for improvements
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and implement best practices to optimize fleet operations
- Train and supervise new drivers as needed
- Handle any customer complaints or concerns related to fleet operations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in logistics or a related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Fleet Controller or similar role
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in using fleet management software and vehicle tracking systems
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to fleet operations
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary
