Join RAC Insurance as a Risk & Compliance Specialist, where you'll play a key role in safeguarding our members by ensuring effective risk management.
About the Role
As a Risk & Compliance Specialist, you will provide expert guidance to strengthen RAC Insurance’s risk and compliance framework. Your work will involve assessing reported incidents, identifying potential breaches, conducting control tests, and monitoring key risk indicators. With a commitment to our members, you’ll recommend improvements that enhance incident management and risk mitigation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incident triage to assess compliance and operational impacts.
- Coordinate and document incident investigations, capturing key data in the risk management system.
- Identify systemic issues and implement improvement measures.
- Conduct control testing, monitor key risk indicators, and recommend control enhancements.
- Educate stakeholders on risk responsibilities and promote a strong risk culture.
- Support the Business Risk & Compliance team on various initiatives as required.
What we are looking for:
- Working knowledge of claims processes and/or insurance policy and product knowledge
- Analytical skills for root cause analysis and data accuracy.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the insurance or financial services industry (or a interest in learning more).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage competing deadlines.
- Previous experience in risk management, compliance, governance, or a regulated environment is preferable
- Familiarity with APRA standards, the General Insurance Code of Practice, and ASIC guidelines (e.g., RG78) is highly advantageous.
