About KUB: KUB is one of the largest public utilities in the country providing safe, reliable, and affordable electric, gas, water, wastewater, and fiber services to more than 520,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of seven surrounding counties. We are looking for employees who want to be a part of a mission-driven organization with strong values that support a skilled, diverse, and inclusive workforce.
About the Role: We are seeking two students to join our Talent Management department—one supporting Learning & Development and Strategic Initiatives and one supporting Talent Acquisition.
As a Learning & Development Student, you’ll support key training programs and development initiatives across KUB. Working alongside the Learning & Development team, you’ll assist with program logistics, maintain accurate training records, track event attendance, and help coordinate ongoing projects. You’ll also manage day-to-day operations of the conference center, collaborating with employees throughout the organization to ensure meeting spaces are properly prepared and set up for productive use. In this role, you’ll contribute to general office operations, participate in development events, and may have opportunities to support specialized training programs or projects as they arise.
As a Talent Acquisition Student, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting key recruiting processes while working closely with recruiters, candidates, and HR teams to deliver a smooth and positive candidate experience. You’ll provide professional email and phone support, coordinate interviews, manage candidate communication, assist with recruiting events, support compliance and documentation efforts, and help prepare new hires for success. You’ll also assist with student-focused events, lead student new hire orientations, and take on additional assignments as they arise, expanding your exposure to Talent Management and making a meaningful contribution to the HR team.
