Position Summary
The Legal Operations Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of the Legal team at Curriculum Associates. This is a great entry point for someone early in their career who is curious about how legal teams work inside a mission-driven company. You’ll help keep contracts organized, maintain our legal systems and databases, support attorneys with administrative tasks, and contribute to process improvement efforts. We’ll invest in your growth and teach you the ropes of legal operations—you bring a willingness to learn, a detail-oriented mindset, and a genuine care for getting things right.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Document Support
- Track and route incoming contract requests, ensuring all relevant details are captured. Primary focus during CA’s busy back to school season and shared responsibility during the rest of the year.
- Maintain the contract repository—uploading executed agreements, updating records, cleansing data and keeping files organized and current.
- Assist with gathering Certificates of Insurance, completing forms and other legal documents.
Legal Systems & Administration
- Partner with Ironclad Administrator on process improvements within our contract lifecycle management system (Ironclad) as well as running Ironclad reports.
- Help organize and maintain the Legal department SharePoint page, shared drives, and internal resources.
Process & Project Support
- Help document legal department workflows, standard operating procedures and the Legal team’s playbook. Suggest and implement process improvements.
- Support cross-functional projects by tracking action items, preparing status updates, and following up with stakeholders.
- Draft quarterly Legal team newsletter.
- Research and summarize information on various legal matters to support the team.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, legal studies, paralegal studies, communications, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 1–4 years of professional experience; internship or coursework in a legal, compliance, or business operations setting.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data, documents, and systems.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Interest in legal technology, process improvement, or the K–12 education sector.
