WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
The Service Engagement team is the critical bridge between Sales and delivery execution within SimCorp's Americas Consulting organization. The team owns the end-to-end bid process for complex, high-value Professional Services opportunities — ensuring proposals are commercially sound, delivery-realistic, and set both our clients and our teams up for success.
As Senior Director, you will lead this team while personally driving our most strategic and complex opportunities. This role reports directly to the VP, Consulting and sits within the Americas Professional Services leadership team, which is structured around four pillars: Business Consulting, Project Management, Delivery Management, and Service Engagement Management.
As SimCorp continues to expand its services catalogue and market reach, the demands on the Service Engagement function are growing — more complex opportunities, faster turnaround, and a constant need for rigorous risk and commercial discipline. The mission of this role is to ensure the region can handle multiple complex opportunities simultaneously, with the right processes, tools, and governance in place to win.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior Principal Service Engagement Managers, building capability and fostering a high-performance culture
Set clear priorities and manage team capacity across the pipeline, holding a high bar for quality, consistency, and commercial discipline
Represent the Service Engagement function as a senior voice within the broader Americas Consulting leadership team
Bid Leadership & Service Engagement
Act as the primary interface between Sales, Value Advisory, and Commercial Excellence for assigned service opportunities — ensuring Services input is timely, aligned, and credible
Personally own or oversee the end-to-end bid process for strategic and high-complexity opportunities, from initial scoping through to contract closure
Shape scope, commercial structures, staffing assumptions, and risk positioning for large and transformational engagements
Produce accurate, high-quality estimates for complex projects covering scope, resources, timelines, costs, and risk — across both T&M and Fixed Fee models
Drive governance and commercial approval processes in line with SimCorp's bid management framework, partnering with Commercial Excellence and Legal
Support contract negotiations and closure activities as the senior Services representative
Ensure disciplined, high-quality handovers from opportunity closure to delivery teams (Project Manager and/or Service Delivery Manager), with clarity on scope, assumptions, and risks
Operational Excellence
Ensure accuracy in pipeline forecasting, order intake, and capacity planning in relevant systems (Salesforce, Zimit)
Drive continuous improvement in estimation quality, process efficiency, and tooling — contributing to enhancements that increase speed, accuracy, and risk control across the broader bid management practice
Provide executive-level reporting on pipeline status, risks, and proposal outcomes for senior stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement
Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders during the pre-contract phase, building confidence in SimCorp's delivery approach and methodology
Operate effectively across multiple organizational layers — from Sales and Legal teams through to C-suite client conversations
Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across Services, Commercial Excellence, Value Advisory, and regional leadership to drive shared outcomes
WHAT WE VALUE
12+ years of experience in Professional Services, bid/engagement management, or commercial delivery — ideally within enterprise software, FinTech, or financial services
Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams of senior professionals
Deep commercial acumen — pricing, margin management, deal structuring, and contract negotiation across T&M and Fixed Fee models
Outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and align across Sales, Legal, Finance, and Delivery functions at the executive level
Strong estimation capability for complex, multi-workstream engagements with a disciplined approach to scope, risk, and assumptions
Experience working across the full sales cycle — from early opportunity shaping through to contract execution
Excellent communication and presentation skills — structured, credible, and executive-ready
Background in investment management, asset management technology, or financial services strongly preferred
Familiarity with SimCorp Dimension / SimCorp One is a significant advantage
Empathy, intellectual curiosity, and the flexibility to travel across the region as required
