Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated HSE Manager to lead and manage all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance across HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with national and international regulations, fostering a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement in HSE practices.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems, policies, and procedures in line with HITACHI ENERGY standards and Indian regulatory requirements.
* Conduct regular HSE risk assessments, audits, and inspections across all company operations, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
* Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
* Ensure all employees and contractors receive appropriate HSE training and awareness programs, promoting a proactive safety culture.
* Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending strategic improvements.
* Manage emergency response plans and procedures, conducting drills and ensuring preparedness for potential incidents.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and other external stakeholders on HSE matters.
* Oversee the management of hazardous materials, waste disposal, and environmental protection initiatives.
* Promote employee engagement in HSE initiatives and champion a "zero-harm" philosophy.
* Stay abreast of new HSE legislation, industry best practices, and technological advancements to continually enhance the company's HSE performance.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
* Recognized professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CHMM).
* Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HSE management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the energy, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sector.
* In-depth knowledge of Indian HSE legislation and regulations (e.g., Factories Act, Environmental Protection Act, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
* Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HSE programs and achieving measurable improvements in safety performance.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in English and local languages relevant to operations.
* Ability to travel to various company sites as required.
