The opportunity:

The Head of Retail Marketing is responsible for driving sustainable growth across AIA Australia’s Retail portfolio by leading an integrated marketing and commercial capability that connects Life and Health Insurance customers, advisers, partners and products. The role translates AIA’s strategic priorities into customer-centric marketing initiatives that strengthen acquisition, engagement, retention and revenue outcomes, while delivering seamless experiences across the end-to-end customer journey.

Leveraging customer, market and commercial insights, the Head of Retail Marketing optimises demand generation, conversion and portfolio performance, balancing profitable growth with customer outcomes, risk management and long-term value creation. Through close alignment with Brand, Customer, Digital and AIA Vitality strategies, the role supports AIA’s purpose of helping Australians live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.

To do this successfully you will:

• Develop and deliver AIA’s Retail Marketing strategy across Life and Health Insurance, driving customer growth, engagement, retention and long-term portfolio value.
• Lead acquisition and demand generation activities, optimising the end-to-end customer journey to improve lead generation, conversion and return on marketing investment.
• Drive customer engagement and retention strategies through personalised lifecycle marketing, customer insights and targeted cross-sell and upsell initiatives.
• Partner with advisers, strategic partners and distribution channels to deliver impactful marketing programs, sales enablement and channel-specific growth strategies.
• Activate compelling customer propositions and brand initiatives, leveraging AIA’s unique strengths, including AIA Vitality, to differentiate in the market.
• Own marketing performance, analytics and investment decisions, using data-driven insights to optimise outcomes, prioritise opportunities and deliver measurable commercial results.
• Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering collaboration, innovation, governance excellence and strong stakeholder relationships across the business.

Successful applications will demonstrate:

• Proven senior marketing leadership experience driving customer growth, engagement, retention and commercial outcomes within complex organisations.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated marketing, growth and customer lifecycle strategies across acquisition, conversion and retention.
• Strong expertise in performance marketing, digital marketing, full-funnel optimisation, CRM, lifecycle marketing and go-to-market execution.
• Being commercially astute with experience managing marketing investment, business cases, portfolio performance and return on investment.
• High analytical skills with the ability to leverage customer, market and commercial insights to inform strategy, optimise performance and drive decision-making.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and leadership capability, with a track record of influencing across functions, leading through change and building high-performing teams.
• A degree-qualification in Marketing, Business, Commerce or a related discipline, with experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare or another highly regulated industry preferred.
