The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for an organized, highly motivated, and process-orientated Safety Coordinator to support the US Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division in Bethesda, MD. This position has the potential for up to 1 day of remote work per week. Must currently hold or be able to attain U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (Minimum). US Citizenship is required in order to obtain a security clearance from the DoD. 

Responsibilities More About the Role:

• Conduct safety inspections for all department office spaces, labs, and HAZMAT lockers and assist in creating relevant post-inspection reports.
• Assist department personnel in rectifying and closing out existing safety deficiencies.
• Assist department supervisors in conducting safety inspections.
• Track and identify outstanding safety training requirements for department personnel, including ESAMS, OJT, Web, and medical surveillance requirements for approximately 700-750 people.
• Develop both internal and external operating procedures and check lists regarding safety processes and workflows.

Collaborate with department leadership to:

• Advise for potential safety improvements.
• Distribute relevant and timely Department safety information.
• Develop and continually update a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Authorized Use List (AUL).
• Develop and manage the department’s Spill Response Plan.
• Participate in NSWCCD’s Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) through attendance in VPP meetings, execution of VPP requirements, and continued OSHA VPP certification.
• Travel to a facility in Memphis, TN as needed (~10% travel).

Qualifications:

Required: 

·       A.S. or B.S. in Environmental Health and Safety Management or similar field.

·       Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

·       A safety background with 2-5 years of experience.

·       OSHA familiarity.

·       Familiarity with Safety Management Systems.

·       Familiarity with IT systems.

·       Process orientated, attention to detail.

·       Eager to learn, self-starter.

Desired:

·       Active Secret Clearance.

·       5+ years of experience in safety procedures and training.

·       NAVSEA or other experience with working within government organizations.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$78,700 - $165,200
