Role Scope

Data Steward is an individual contributor role is responsible for executing core data stewardship activities that ensure the accuracy, integrity, and governance of enterprise data assets. The Data Steward manages end‑to‑end lineage monitoring, maintains high‑quality metadata, enforces policy and control compliance, and supports UAT for database changes and product distribution. The role performs detailed data validation, vendor data reviews, and works closely with Technology and Data Operations teams to resolve issues and maintain consistent data standards across systems.

Additionally, the Data Steward contributes to process improvement by driving standardization, enhancing documentation, and supporting the adoption of automation and AI‑enabled capabilities to improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and strengthen operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Data Management & Delivery:
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex, data-driven projects, including requirements gathering, analysis, and execution.
  • Define features, user stories, and technology requirements, ensuring alignment with user and client needs.
• Collaboration:
  • Work with stakeholders across Operations, Technology, and Product teams to streamline workflows.
  • Support technology teams with user story creation, bug identification, and agile development processes.
• Data Quality & Governance:
  • Analyse vendor data and develop effective ingestion strategies.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities using AI, Python, machine learning, or other data methodologies.
• Visualization & Insights:
  • Transform raw, complex data into actionable insights through effective visualization techniques.
  • Stay informed about market trends and address data gaps to maintain relevance and accuracy.

 

How Impact Will Be Measured (Success Metrics)

·        Data accuracy and integrity - Maintain high accuracy rates through consistent validation, timely corrections, and adherence to defined quality thresholds.

·        SLA and turnaround adherence - Meet or exceed service‑level timelines for data updates, validations, issue resolution, and stakeholder responses.

·        Documentation completeness and currency - Keep process documentation, data dictionaries, lineage records, and stewardship artifacts up‑to‑date, audit‑ready, and fully aligned with governance standards.

 

 

For This Role You'll Need to Have (Skills & Competencies) 

 

Technical Proficiency:

o    Proficiency in the entity and people ecosystem, including expertise with CIQ, BigDough, DMS, MMD backend infrastructure, tables, pipelines, and loaders.

o    Advanced SQL skills (must have) with hands-on experience in data mining and analysis.

o    Proficiency in writing Features and User Stories, preferably using Azure DevOps.

o    Strong understanding and application of data visualization tools and techniques.

Soft Skills:

o    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

o    Strong collaborative mindset with a structured approach to problem-solving.

o    Innovative thinker, capable of working effectively across teams and geographies.

 

Preferred Education & Experience

·        Bachelor's or master's degree in quantitative, technical, or business discipline.

·        4+ years of relevant experience in data, analytics, operations, or related functions.

Key Interfaces & Stakeholders

·        Partner with Data Operations and Data Quality teams on data risk, quality checks, and issue resolution.

·        Coordinate with Tech teams on data issues, enhancements, and UAT activities.

·        Support Product teams with data requirements and validation.

·        Ensure alignment with governance and compliance standards.
