Section 1: Position Summary
The Compliance team internship role will encompass learning and practical application of core compliance principles and requirements to real work allowing for hands-on experience in testing tasks, including allocated links, financial data reconciliation, and more. The intern will have a background in actuarial science or mathematics and a keen interest in compliance and regulatory processes.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Census Load: Assist in the preparation and loading of census data into compliance systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Allocated Links: Support the creation and management of allocated links for compliance testing purposes.
- Financial Data Reconciliation: Perform basic financial data reconciliation tasks to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of compliance testing processes and results.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the compliance team to identify and resolve any issues related to compliance testing tasks.
- Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your understanding of compliance processes and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science (BSC) or a master’s degree in mathematics (MSC).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data management tools.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
